June Plum

June plum is a crisp, tangy tropical fruit from the tree Spondias dulcis, grown across the Caribbean. It is oval and green when young, ripening to golden yellow, with pale flesh around a single large fibrous, spiky seed. It is eaten green and sour with salt and pepper, enjoyed softer and sweeter when ripe, and widely blended into a refreshing juice. The same fruit is also known as golden apple, ambarella and pomme cythere.
