Guinep
Guinep is a small, round, green tropical fruit that grows in bunches across the Caribbean and Latin America, with a tight leathery skin around a large seed wrapped in a thin layer of sweet, tangy, jelly like pink or salmon coloured pulp. You crack the skin and suck the pulp off the seed, a favourite summer street fruit. It is not the same as ackee, which is a different fruit entirely, and the large smooth seed is a choking hazard for small children.
