DishesCaribbean

Bulla cake, usually just called bulla, is a dense, flat, round Jamaican cake sweetened and coloured with molasses or brown sugar and flavoured with ginger and nutmeg. Firm, chewy and not too sweet, it is a simple, filling and affordable snack long loved in Jamaica. It is famously eaten with slices of avocado, known in Jamaica as pear, and also with cheese, and it keeps well.
