Attieke, also spelled acheke, is a staple side dish from Ivory Coast, made from cassava that is fermented, grated and steamed into light, fluffy, slightly tangy granules resembling couscous. It is a beloved everyday staple in Ivory Coast and parts of West Africa, eaten as a base with grilled fish or meat and a fresh tomato and onion garnish. It is naturally gluten free, and is usually bought ready-made abroad.
