Good shop, well stocked but not very good customer service
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst African shop I’ve ever been to and by God I’m never going back there. I called on Saturday to ask for the price of a carton of frozen turkey and the lady told me it was £35. Today is Monday and I asked my European husband to please go to the store to buy a few things while I stay home with our 11 month old baby. Upon getting there the lady told him the turkey was £38. Why would you suddenly change a price? Is it because he is not Nigerian? Would she change the price if I was the one buying it? Her excuse was that she was running a promo (which she DID NOT inform me) and the promo ended so the price went back up. How does a price change in less than 2 days?! Also, she told my husband that he could only open the carton of turkey after paying for it. He was only allowed to peep and see a glimpse of it. Ridiculous! How can you buy something when you can’t see what you’re paying for? It’s ridiculous. It’s a store and anyone should be able to check first before paying for it. The worst part was that I know she won’t tell me that if I was the one shopping. She was clearly taking advantage of the fact that my husband is not African and that got me very upset. I live in Liverpool so I was happy to know that I don’t have to drive all the way to Manchester for turkey but with this horrible service I will gladly take the train to Manchester if I have to. You can’t run a business like this and expect to thrive. No wonder Pakistanis and Arabs run better African shops than us Africans. Finally there are no price tags for items in this store. How would you know the prices of what you want to buy? No price tags means they can give you whatever price they want to and you don’t have a choice but to either accept it or leave the store. I believe this is illegal. Either way, I’m never going back there. Regards, A very disgruntled customer.
Great store!, well stocked and full with variety in love with all purchases would’ve been a 5 but customer service wouldn’t allow me as it was lacking
It’s a very nice shop, it’s got every African food stuffs that you want ranging from fresh meat 🥩 to fresh vegetables 🥗 include yam 🍠, plantains beans and even African drink which comes in direct from Africa and Nigeria. it also have local crabs and confectioneries, it has very good customer services and full range of products. It is also very easy to access.
Would have been 5 stars if customer service was great. Good variety of products and they are always fresh and good, prices are not too bad. Once I saw lots of black debris in the garri I bought but after complaints, the owner changed the garri vendor. I have cooked lots of delicious meals with the goods I buy here and it is so close to my house. Meals like isi ewu (goat head), jollof and fried rice, beans, yam porridge, egusi and okro soup etc. Enjoy my pictures.
