Agbalumo
Pronounced ag-bah-LOO-moh
Agbalumo is the African star apple, a much loved West African fruit, sweet and sour in taste, with soft, sticky orange flesh and a cluster of seeds arranged in a star shape at the centre. Known in Igbo as udara and in Yoruba as agbalumo, it is a seasonal fruit, eaten fresh as a snack and prized for its bright, tangy, sweet and sour flavour.
